Lena Dunham is willing to give all of herself to this election. The Girls creator, 30, and outspoken feminist activist participated in a Funny or Die sketch dedicated to her love of Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.
She started the skit, talking to some pals about her thoughts on the 2016 presidential election.
“I have been so shaken by this election. It has unveiled the darkest aspects of American culture. And the racist, homophobic, ableist and xenophobic rhetoric is making me ill,” she said. “So what do you think I’m going to do with all this rage?”
Her friends suggested she channel her emotions into her writing or campaign for the candidate, but Dunham called those suggestions “basic,” deciding to go a different route.
“What I ultimately decided on was that the medium for me to express my anger was rapped music,” she declared, much to her friends’ dismay.
The clip then cut to the HBO star holding a microphone and rocking a cherry red pantsuit.
“Hey, hey, guys, it’s MC Pantsuit. My hobby is rap music but my passion is defending the nation’s baddest grandmother, I’m talking Hillary Rodham Clinton,” she shouted.
After a few funny verses with Broadway star Cynthia Erivo and Charlamagne Tha God, Dunham decided to strip down.
“And now I’m going to take off my pantsuit, to reveal a more sensual pantsuit, ‘cause that’s what you do for the candidate you love,” she shouted, though no one agreed to join her. “You’ve got to show your whole body, everything you have for the candidate you love.”
Dunham then rocked out in her tiny crop top and matching bottoms before questioning, “I wonder if I’m actually hurting her chances of winning?”
